built-in data collecting capabilities. Linked with our Carlson Survey\Design software enables us to provide field surveys quickly and accurately in a variety of file formats for engineering and architectural design.
We are a full service land surveying and civil engineering company and are capable of small residential surveying to commercial development surveying, highway stakeout, bridge stakeout, topography, site settlement elevations, construction management, FEMA Flood Elevation Certificates and LOMA's. Our civil engineering experience includes residential and commercial development design, to include utility and street design, erosion and sediment control plans, storm water management plans, storm water pollution prevention plans, and HVAC design .
At present we have well trained survey crews and a supporting staff of survey technicians. We have 2 Certified Land Surveyors (LS), 1 LSIT and 1 employee to sit for the FE Exam in October. We have a total staff of 8 full time employees and 3 part time employees.
Brent Golden, licensed surveyor in training (LSIT), is currently a Party Chief/Senior Engineering Technician and Program Manager for Mathews & Henegar, Inc. He is an experienced survey party chief in all aspects of land surveying. Mr. Golden is also a competent estimator and senior engineering technician experienced in site plans, utility, street, water, sewer, storm sewer, storm water management and E&S design. Brent will graduate from Old Dominion University, Richmond, Virginia with a BS degree in Civil Engineering in Dec 2009 and will sit for his fundementals of engineering (FE) exam in October of 2009..
Jennifer Hodge is the daughter of Bob Henegar and serves as Treasurer of Mathews & Henegar, Inc. Jennifer is involved in the everyday administration of our firm. Jennifer is competent in surveying estimating and answering most surveying related questions. Jennifer's duties include company administration, AP/AR, payroll, estimation, field crew scheduling and survey/engineering deed research.
James C. Groseclose II, LS is a licensed surveyor and offers over 23 years of experience in all phases of land surveying. He has been competent in all aspects of land surveying for over 16 years with Mathews & Henegar, Inc. Currently, James is the Director of Surveying for Mathews & Henegar, Inc. His duties include supervision of crews, survey party chief, preparation of survey estimates, survey computation and preparation and review of survey plats. On several occasions, Mr. Groseclose has been called to testify in court as an "expert witness" in the area of surveying.
Robert (Bob) Henegar, LS is a licensed surveyor and the founder and CEO of Mathews & Henegar, Inc. Mr. Henegar offers over 49 years of experience in all phases of land surveying. The scope of his experience includes: boundaries, topographic, geodetic, and route surveys as well as construction layouts, land acquisitions, asbuilt and ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys. On numerous occasions Mr. Henegar has been the sole project manager. Mr. Henegar was project surveyor in the planning and development of the Dulles Toll Road in Loudon County, VA 1989-1992, where he performed surveying and plats for land acquisitions and engineering design surveying as well as construction stakeout for the toll road. He was also involved in the engineering design and construction stakeout for Interstate 95 in Prince William and Fairfax Counties, as well as the Fairfax County Parkway engineering design surveying. Mr. Henegar has been involved with surveying of schools (George Mason University - City of Fairfax, Critzer Elem. School and Snowville Elem. School - Pulaski County) and Industrial Parks (Shirley Industrial Park, Fairfax County). Manhole locations and measurements are standard procedure for most engineering design projects.
Ralph T. Wirt, PE is a licensed civil engineer and has 40+ years experience in the design and construction of building systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical for residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings. Civil engineering design projects include site development, water/sanitary sewer/storm drainage systems, soil erosion control and stormwater management plans.
